Riding for the disabled
The Southend Branch of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) runs sessions at Belfairs Riding School.
Riding helps physical co-ordination, and also improves social and communication skills. Riders with most disabilities can ride. There are regular sessions three days a week on Monday evenings, Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings. Hard hats are provided and no other special equipment is needed.

Helpers are vital to support and encourage the riders. Each ride has an overall instructor in charge of the lesson. Helpers are required to either lead the horse or help support the rider.
If you are interested in volunteering please contact the Riding School on 01702 525571. Training is given and helpers are fully CRB checked.
